I woke my son up early so we could go out and see the park at its best, the morning. The animals are out, the air is mysterious and few tourists are up. Far away we spotting this old bull out in a meadow. We walked about a mile to get to him, something I would never do during the rut when the old bulls get wild eyed. By the time we arrived he had laid down and his eyes were closed. I stepped in a little closer and his eyes opened. He didn't seem too bothered so I eased in and fired off a few shots. The detail on this shot is incredible. This was the first print I ever sold for an office space. We printed it HUGE on metal (recommended) and it was amazing.  This shot means a lot to me because it inspired me to take my prints to a new level and put it out there for more people to enjoy and I took this with my son. My son likes to brag that he has been to Yellowstone almost 20 times. My kids can't get enough of it and that makes me really really happy.                                          

I named this Last of the Breed because the string of Buffalo in Yellowstone is the only strand of buffalo to have been unbroken since prehistoric times. The endurance it took for them to still be here is staggering.
